For photography learners, the first need is technical help. But such good books are few, because the practicality of photography leads to the first-line photographer's technology is best.

I think you confuse two concepts: commentary and theory. Learning photography is first to look at the history of photography, not the theory (even the history of photography is an introduction. In essence, photography history is a commentary. When we want to understand contemporary photography practice, also look at relevant commentaries.
